John Gibson Looks for Strong Finish at Motor Mile
STATESVILLE, NC (June 7th, 2013) – After a productive test session at the track, John Gibson and his Gibson Motorsports team are looking forward to a competitive race at the Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Virginia on Saturday, June 8th, 2013.
Last week, Gibson Motorsports headed to Radford, Virginia for a test session to help prepare for the race. “We had a really good test last week. The #13 Mitigator Ford Fusion was strong and we feel like we have a really good chance for a solid finish this weekend,” John said.
During the test session, John and his Gibson Motorsports team not only worked on the #13 Mitigator Ford Fusion’s performance, but also John’s comfort and safety inside the car. Longtime sponsors, Seasgroup and Mitigator, continue to drive the performance of their High Impact Performance Seat Cushioning System. With the advent of their new NASCAR certified material, they continue to deliver best in class products while fine tuning performance. Mitigator has developed a new High Performance Foam that on top of being the industry leader in driver protection and comfort, it is also excellent at vibration damping which creates a whole new level of safety and comfort for the driver. The Mitigator material helps isolate the driver from the excessive vibrations that a typical race car creates during a normal high speed race.
Mitigator LLC staff were present to equip and collect data on the #13 Gibson Motorsports race car. The car was outfitted with 2 Vibration/Impact sensors. One sensor was affixed to the seat itself and the other was adhered to the driver. The seat sensor was to collect data generated from the car under normal driving conditions and the sensor adhered to the driver was to show the isolation effects between several configurations of seat cushions including the new HIF-100A NASCAR certified Foam.
With this data, Seasgroup Inc. and Mitigator LLC are able to continue to improve our high performance products in keeping drivers safe, comfortable and vibration free.
“In the test we swapped between traditional and Mitigator materials,” John said. “You could definitely feel a difference between the two. As always, Mitigator is doing a great job as they continue to enhance their already great products.”

Now they will head to the Motor Mile for race day. “We’ve always been fast at the Motor Mile,” John said. “We’re looking forward to a good run this weekend. The Motor Mile is tough on equipment, so the goal will be to manage our equipment and if we can do that, we should be in contention for a good finish.”
The Heritage Truck Centers 250 race day kicks off with Pro Cup practice at noon, with qualifying set to start at 5:30. The green flag for the race is scheduled for 7:30.
